It’s Food Biz™ is led by Charla Draper, a savvy and accomplished professional with diverse experience in marketing and editorial communications focusing on food and food–related products.

As a leading food expert, Draper uses her passion and expertise to reach target consumers with motivation to get into the kitchen. She has special expertise in developing effective and successful multicultural and general market programs to build profitable brand loyalty. Most importantly, Draper helps clients achieve business goals.

Draper sharpened her strategic product promotion skills as Test Kitchen Supervisor for the Kraft Kitchens, and as Communications Center Manager for The Campbell Soup Company’s flagship brand. As food editor for Southern Living and Ebony magazines, her expertise and editorial skills created a unique and effective perspective in producing editorial content to motivate the consumer audience, and support business objectives of advertising clients and advertising sales teams.

Draper is the Founder of National Soul Food Month. She earned Master’s Degree in Marketing Communications, and Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics, with a minor in Marketing. In 2023 Draper was added to the HistoryMakers Digital Collection at the Library of Congress. She is a member of: Les Dames Escoffier, former Board Member of the Southern Foodways Alliance and Common Threads Foundations, and National Association of Black Journalists.
